LANDLORDS OF WALES… YOU’RE DOING GREAT!
“More renters in Wales are satisfied with their landlord than in any other part of the UK”.
This is according to new findings from the National Landlords Association (NLA). The poll found that 92% of renters in Wales said they were satisfied with their Landlords. This is in comparison to East Midlands who were second with 83 % satisfaction and 67% of tenants in the North East satisfied with their landlord, which was the lowest satisfaction rate in the whole of the UK. On average across the UK, 8/10 tenants (79%) were satisfied with their landlord. Richard Lambert, Chief Executive Officer of the NLA said “Good landlords make up the majority of the market, so it’s not surprising that the majority of tenants are satisfied.”
With Wales seeing the introduction of the Rent Smart Wales scheme, meaning that landlords have to be trained in order to continue letting a property, or use an approved agent. Along with legislation including, (but not limited to, legionella checks, gas safety and PAT Testing) it all lends favourably as to why landlords in Wales are providing the best service in the UK. The amount of legislation that has come in to place for the lettings industry has significantly increased in recent years. The statistics above would indicate that the increased legislation does help regulate the industry, as Wales, who have introduced a landlord licensing scheme (RSW) also have the highest tenant satisfaction.
