Keylet out to support the World half marathon in Cardiff
On Easter Saturday, thousands of people pounded the roads of Cardiff to complete the World Half Marathon. People got the chance to ‘Run with the Champions’ and despite the wind and rain, the atmosphere and encouragement from the crowds remained positive. Whilst both Keylet offices were open for business, despite the road closures around the Cardiff area, we couldn’t wait to support the runners as they followed the course through Cardiff Bay. We were just in time to catch a glimpse of Mo Farrah, as he flew passed the iconic Wales Millennium Centre and stayed to support the waves of runners as they followed shortly after.
Mo Farah finished third place and received bronze, whilst Geoffrey Kamworor achieved first place despite falling over at the beginning of the race. The winner, even with the weather conditions, achieved a record breaking course time at Cardiff and lots of personal bests were surpassed, as 16,000 people crossed the line. BBC1 had full coverage of the Half Marathon and if you were watching on T.V. you may have spotted our yellow Keylet cars that were caught on camera in the Women’s race.
A massive congratulations to all those that took part, and whether you took part or were inspired by watching, Cardiff offers another Half Marathon in October, where more details can be found here www.cardiffhalfmarathon.co.uk/
